Dr. Irina Ilyayeva, MD
Founder of Jackson Heights Pediatrics. Dr. Ilyayeva is a board-certified pediatrician. Dr. Ilyayeva speaks English, Spanish and Russian.
Dr. Ilyayeva sees patients from their first newborn visit to age 26 and gets to know families over time. She has cared for children and families of many backgrounds since 2005, including in the hospital. As a USCIS-designated civil surgeon, she also does immigration medical exams (Form I-693) for adults and children.

Your newborn's first visits
1. Schedule the first visit
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends your baby's first visit at 3 to 5 days old, within 2 to 3 days of leaving the hospital. Call to set it up.
2. Know what to bring
Bring your hospital discharge papers, your baby's insurance card (or yours, if the baby isn't on a plan yet) and any questions about feeding or sleep.
3. Feeding and growth
We check weight, feeding and jaundice at early visits and talk through what's normal. More about newborn care.

We accept insurance from 17 companies and programs, including MetroPlus Health, Healthfirst, Fidelis Care, Empire BlueCross BlueShield, EmblemHealth, NY Medicaid, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna and Cigna. Self-pay is also available. Plans change, so please call (917) 832-6562 to confirm your child's plan before the visit.
